http://www.facebook.com/pages/DJ-ELEVEN/38734402886

Eleven may be one of the sexiest DJ in Calgary, but her music is ruthless evil twisted filth, the likes of which will blow you away. Commonly referred to as the one and only dubsteptress, eleven has been djing since the tender age of 18, quickly gaining skill and taste in music and sharing that passionate love of music with crowds. Playing gigs in cities and festivals all over western Canada such as motion notion and astral harvest as well as many club gigs and raves, she is quicky becoming one of Calgary’s most sought after djs. Currently she is part of the Bassic and Faded Element roster. If intense dubstep basslines, stellar technical skill and electric stage presence wrapped up in a adorable goth package sounds appealing to you, make sure you check out Eleven!!

CHAINSAW SOUND ::.
Rhythmicon | Chainsaw, NWJ, PacificDubStep | Victoria
Atma | Chainsaw, ,Suave Assassins | Vancouver

A tag-team combo you’ll want to be up front and center stage for, Atma & Rhythmicon bring a blend of dynamic dubstep and tasteful jungle to the tables. The phrase “chainsaw” was originally used in reference to the big snarly basslines in drum and bass music. With an unparalleled enthusiasm for their craft, the two formed the original collab “Chainsaw Distribution” as an outlet for supplying the scene with high quality artists, events and mixes. Years later, both have built studios and held down residencies. Working to further his music career, Atma moved to Vancouver and began promoting and playing with the Suave Assassins group, while Rhythmicon ran the VIBE night at Hush, and became one of the driving forces behind the Pacific Dubstep camp. Musically, Atma, (aka. Atma the Weapon), maintains the positive vibes. Known for combining tearin’ basslines with jazzy undertones, his mixes are frequently heavy soulful party smashers. Rhythmicon plays both deep and heavy dubstep; featuring uplifting instrumental riffs, thundering 808 bass, and driving rhythmic percussion. Expect a high-energy live set filled with original material that engages the crowd and pushes the boundaries of both minds and speakercones.

GOBE ::.

With a current emphasis on dubstep, he can move the masses with deep sub meditation and work the crowd into a frenzy with face melting dubplates.

FRAME ::.
PacificDubStep, The Reef | Victoria

Residing in Victoria, Frame spreads the more chill and musical side of dubstep to the people. Coming up in the Vancouver drum and bass scene, Frame has made the transition over to dubstep finding his style within the heavy roots and rhythm aspects of the music. Holding down a residency at The Reef in Victoria, Frame is well suited to get your feet moving. Keep your ears open for his irie selections.

Limbo – Targuus Targuus EP (technodubstepmadness) [tdpl27]

Local techno enthusiast Fractal‘s Tide Pool Label has just put out a nifty collection of  cross-genre deliciousness.

1: Limbo – Must Destroy What’s Inside
2: Limbo – Tin
3: Limbo – Distant To Sealong
4: Limbo – Gazing At My Shoesteps
5: Limbo – Empty Fields (Betamax Warriors Remix)

(re-posted)

“Our man Limbo called this his ‘experimental EP’, and he certainly meant it. What passes for “techno” these days is crushed, mixed and melded together to form something entirely unique. Betamax Warrior’s inch-perfect remix of Empty Fields rounds the package out and provides something for more typical dancefloors. Look out!

(Local dubstep heads: check ‘Tin’ and ‘Gazing At My Shoesteps’. Local techno people, I double dare you to try and mix ‘Must Destroy What’s Inside’.)”
